I Faces entry

A week or so ago I joined the "I Heart Faces" list (because faces are my favorite thing!) and this is my first entry into their weekly challenge। It is a picture of my little Jack Russell Terrorist that was hit by a car and killed. Broke my heart...

"Canned" Photos

Just got an interesting item from PhotoJo this morning. www.photojo.com They suggest using jelly and canning jars as photo frames! Here is a photo to show what they are suggesting: I particularly like the short jar near the left...on their site they even show using Coke bottles, but to me they are not as attractive.

Crystal's Birthday Present

This all started from the beginning of a new painting. I loved how the angel wing turned out, so photographed it knowing I could "do something with it". This is one thing I've done with it...The wings, which were printed on Sheer Heaven are lifted off the background, then the image of the woman is lifted even higher. She holds a sign that says, "Here are your wings, now fly." Bars of music were cut from a page then formed into a bow and below that a twig, feathers, buttons and a paper wasp nest were arranged. It is framed in a black shadowbox frame.

Birthday book for 7 year old Emmelia

It is always so hard to come up with a meaningful birthday present for my grandkids. But I was inspired this year to make a book for the first grader. Here is a picture of the cover. The book is made from coasters and bound with a Bind-it-all. The elephant's ears are three dimensional. The Empress's crown is glittery. An embellished evergreen...

Escargot and empty egg shells... And an exciting electric eel! And look at the exotic eyelashes on the emu! And this is the back of the book. Hopefully, the love I have for this child shows in the thought and care that went into making this book for her.

Art Walk here in La Junta, Colorado

We are ready for the Art Walk we are having here in La Junta. I hope YOU can join us. This is the second annual event and last year it was just wonderful...perfect weather, beautiful art, and wonderful visitors. What a blast! We are keeping our fingers crossed for the same magical atmosphere we had last year. Here is a poster that shows all the events that will be going on.
